Serkan Asan

I'm a software developer and SAP specialist with extensive experience designing, building, and optimizing enterprise applications. Since 2020 I've worked as a freelance developer, delivering custom software solutions for clients in finance, retail, and industry.

Born in Istanbul in 1984, I finished school there before moving to Germany to study computer science at the University of Paderborn. During my studies I gained hands-on experience through internships and work as a student assistant, including in software development and systems integration.

I began my career at Consenso Consulting in Bielefeld, initially developing Android applications connected to SAP backends via the Sybase Mobile Platform — my first hands-on experience with SAP. Over time I specialized in ABAP, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP Gateway, and SAP PI/PO, while also building skills in Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, and frameworks like Django and Node.js.

My work sits at the intersection of SAP, enterprise integration, and general software engineering — building systems that hold up in production, not just in a demo. My projects range from mobile apps and SAP system optimizations to custom analytics platforms that use APIs, automation, and real-time data processing.

I'm fluent in German and Turkish and have advanced English skills. I work primarily on SAP development, enterprise integrations and backend systems, with a focus on maintainable solutions and reliable production systems.
